Royal Titans Boss Guide

OSRS Royal Titans boss guide overview

The Royal Titans consist of two bosses — Eldric the Ice King and Branda the Fire Queen — designed to be fought as a duo, with each player taking on one Titan. They can also be soloed, though the fight will take considerably longer. Their mechanics are straightforward, and they have low defence, meaning they take damage quickly — experienced players with maxed gear can take them down in as little as 1 minute 30 seconds.

Players primarily farm the Royal Titans for three key drops: the Mystic Vigour prayer scroll from Branda the Fire Queen, which unlocks the Mystic Vigour prayer; the Dead Eye prayer scroll, which unlocks the Dead eye prayer; and the Twinflame Staff — a magic weapon that provides infinite fire and water runes and automatically switches elemental attacks based on the enemy's weakness. In this guide, I'll walk you through the best duo strategy, gear setups for every budget, and everything you need to kill the Royal Titans consistently.

There are no requirements to fight the Royal Titans, but the following stats are recommended to kill them consistently:

  • 70 Attack
  • 70 Strength
  • 70 Defence
  • 70+ Ranged
  • 75+ Magic — for a max hit of 40 with Fire Wave and Water Wave on elementals. Levels below this will not be able to one-shot elementals
  • 70+ Hitpoints
  • 70+ Prayer — for protection prayers and Piety

Location & Getting There

The Royal Titans are located in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon at the position highlighted below.

How to get to the Royal Titans

Here are the quickest ways to reach them consistently:

  • Giantsoul Amulet — An untradeable drop from the bosses with a 1/16 drop rate, so it shouldn't take long to obtain. This is the fastest teleport once acquired, taking you directly to the entrance of the boss fight.
  • Fairy Ring (Code AIQ) — Teleports you just south of the dungeon entrance. Head inside and make your way to the shortcut if you have the 60 Agility requirement; otherwise, you'll need to go around to the entrance.
  • Rimmington House Portal — If your POH is in Rimmington, the dungeon entrance is just to the north.

Other methods such as the Minigame Teleport (Rat Pits), Spirit Tree patch, and Explorer's Ring can also get you there, but the options above are quicker and more consistent.

Official Worlds for the Royal Titans

If you don't already have a partner, hopping to one of the official worlds makes it much easier to find one. Simply type "Lfd" (looking for duo) and someone should respond.

Gear and Inventory Setup

I'll be going over three gear and inventory setups — the best in slot, a mid-level budget option, and a low-level Ironman-friendly setup. You'll primarily be using melee throughout the fight, but magic and ranged switches are also required. For melee, I recommend prioritising a faster weapon over a harder-hitting one, as the Titans have low defence — the more hits you land, the more damage you'll deal overall.

Facing the Royal Titans

Solo or Duo

Royal Titans lair entrance

The entrance to the Royal Titans' lair is shown below. To fight solo, enter alone and select the Start a Fight option. If fighting as a duo, your partner must be on your friends list and can join by entering your name at the entrance. If you're the one joining, click Join a Fight and enter your partner's name.

This guide focuses on fighting the Titans as a duo, as it's the easiest way to learn the fight. If you plan to solo, it's worth doing a few duo runs first to get comfortable with the mechanics before going in alone.

The Fight

Phase 1

Starting the Royal Titans fight

Before entering the lair, make sure you have your melee gear equipped, drink your combat and ranged boosting potions, and activate Protect from Melee along with any combat boosting prayers. You and your partner should bring opposing elemental spells — if you bring Fire Blast, your partner should bring Water Blast, and vice versa. When ready, head inside.

Both Eldric the Ice King and Branda the Fire Queen will spawn on opposite sides and immediately begin their attacks — each player should focus on one Titan and melee them from the start. They will walk away shortly after, at which point switch to your ranged gear and continue attacking from a distance.

Shortly after walking away, the Titan will shout "I'm coming for you" — this is your cue to switch back to melee gear and resume attacking until they walk away again. This is essentially how the fight works, but you also need to watch out for their attacks throughout the phases.

Royal Titan Attacks

Stomp The Titan stomps the ground, hitting the three rows directly in front of them for up to 26 damage. This is only used when you're in melee range — keep Protect from Melee active to block it entirely.

Fire/Icicle Walls A row of fire or icicles will begin forming as shown above — move away from any targeted tiles as standing on them deals up to 12 damage. Destroy these as soon as you see them. It's recommended that each partner brings the opposing elemental spell of the boss they're facing, so you can cover different walls and clear them faster:

  • Fire walls — the player with Water Blast or higher should be responsible for putting these out. One spell also extinguishes the two adjacent tiles. Ice spells also work.
  • Icicle walls — the player with Fire Blast or higher should be responsible for melting them. One spell also melts the two adjacent tiles.

Each wall can be destroyed in a single tick, so you won't lose much time before resuming your attack. If one player has a Twinflame Staff, they can handle both wall types alone due to its ability to switch between spells instantly.

Fire/Ice Elementals

Killing elementals during the Royal Titans fight

The Titans summon three elementals that attack with melee. If left alive, they self-destruct, dealing 8–10 damage in a 3x3 area. Elementals take double damage from their opposing element, so always use the correct spell — the player with Fire spells should handle Ice elementals, and the player with Water spells should deal with Fire elementals.

Ensure you have a +70 Magic attack bonus (or +39 with full Void Mage) to guarantee a max hit. Since these spells hit in a 3x3 area, wait for the elementals to stack so you can hit all three at once. Each elemental killed reduces your attack delay by 1 tick, allowing you to cast spells noticeably faster.

With max gear, you can simply tank the elemental hits — they don't hit hard enough to be a serious threat.

That's everything you need to handle in Phase 1 — keep Protect from Melee active, destroy walls as soon as they appear, kill elementals with the correct spell, and switch between melee and ranged as the Titans move in and out of range.

Phase 2

Royal Titans Phase 2

At around 30% HP, the Royal Titans will teleport onto platforms to the north and south of you as shown below. Make sure you're not standing on either side when this happens, or you'll take 15–30 damage. Resume meleeing and keep Protect from Melee active — they retain all their Phase 1 attacks but introduce a new one:

Elemental Blast A tile will spawn that you must stand on before its progress bar expires. This appears just before the Elemental Blast, where the Titans blast the entire arena with their element three times, each hit dealing up to 30 damage. Standing on the safe tile protects you from all three blasts. Once you're comfortable with the fight, you can switch to ranged gear while standing on the tile to keep your damage going.

It's important to keep both Titans at a similar HP throughout the fight. Once one Titan dies, the fight becomes significantly harder — the Stomp attack will deal 10 damage through prayer, and the safe tile will always spawn in the row furthest from the remaining Titan, making it harder to reach in time.

When both Titans are defeated, you can loot either one. Both players are able to loot the same Titan, but neither player can loot the other one afterwards — so choose wisely.
