Master the first hour of OSRS Deadman Annihilation. Follow our step-by-step route through Varrock and Lumbridge to gain 1,000+ points and early Sigils.
In Deadman: Annihilation, the first 60 minutes of your account's life are protected by PvP immunity. If you waste this hour walking around or bank-standing, you will be left behind. Those who use their immunity to stack Skull Points and permanent unlocks will have a massive advantage once the "always-on" PvP combat begins.
This guide provides the most efficient "Day 1 Route" to secure 1,000+ points, level 40+ in several skills, and your first essential Sigils.
Step 1: The Varrock Museum Power-Level (0-5 Minutes)
As soon as you spawn in Varrock, open your Starter Pack but don't get distracted by the gear yet.
- The Museum Quiz: Run to the Varrock Museum basement. Talk to Orlando Smith and complete the natural history quiz.
- Reward: You will instantly hit 27 Hunter and 27 Slayer.
- Points: This alone nets you roughly 260 Skull Points because of the level-up bonuses and task completions.
- The Banker: Head to the East Bank. Set a Bank PIN immediately (Option 2 via the banker). This is a requirement for certain diary tasks later.
- The Stray Dog: Pick up bones from a killed man/guard. Use them on the Stray Dog for a free Varrock Easy Diary completion (15 points).
Step 2: Buying Your First Sigil
By now, you should have over 400 Skull Points. Right-click your Deadman Skull and enter the shop.
- PURCHASE: Sigil of Litheness (250 Points).
- Why? It grants 2x Agility XP while running and, crucially, allows you to use any Agility shortcut in the game regardless of your level. This is the single most important utility item for Day 1.
Step 3: Lumbridge & Draynor Diary Blitz (5-20 Minutes)
Use your Home Teleport to Lumbridge. We are going to abuse the Litheness sigil for high-tier points.
- Count Check: Talk to Count Check in the graveyard. Since you set a PIN in Varrock, he will give you an XP Lamp. Use this on Agility or a skill you plan to main.
- The 30-Second Skiller: Buy a rake and compost from the farming apprentice. Rake the patch and use compost for instant Farming levels. Buy a knife and axe; chop/burn Oak logs for the Lumbridge Easy Diary.
- Fairy Ring Mastery: Grab your
Dramen Stafffrom your bank. Jagex has unlocked Fairy Rings from Level 3 in this mode.- Teleport to Zanaris (Code:
BKSor similar). - Run to the Cosmic Temple Agility Shortcut. Even at level 1 Agility,
Lithenessallows you to cross it. This completes a Lumbridge Hard Diary task, granting a massive 40 points.

Step 4: The Fairy Ring "Tour"
While you have your Dramen Staff, visit these locations to auto-complete Medium Diary tasks for 25 points each:
- AIR: South of Ardougne.
- DJR: Sinclair Mansion (Kandarin).
- CIR: Farming Guild (Kourend).
- DIS: Wizards' Tower basement.
Step 5: Post-Immunity Strategy (The Pivot)
Once your immunity timer hits 10 minutes remaining, you need to decide on your "Main" activity.
Option A: The Safe Zone Grinder (Recommended for Beginners)
Head to Wintertodt or Tempoross. Jagex has made these Safe Zones for DMM: Annihilation.
- Buy the Sigil of Hoarding (250 points). This gives you 5x Points at these minigames. You can safely grind to 99 Firemaking or Fishing while racking up thousands of Deadman Points for main-game rewards without ever risking your life.
Option B: The Money Maker (For the Bold)
Buy the Sigil of Deception (150 points). This makes you never fail a pickpocket and automatically re-pickpockets NPCs.
- Go to Ardougne Knights. You will generate thousands of GP per minute. Use this GP to buy better gear or a
Fortuitity Trinketto increase your drop rates.
Option C: The Quest Skipper
If you hate questing, don't do it. Save your points for the Quest Lamps:
- Monkey Madness 2 Lamp: 5,000 points.
- Recipe for Disaster Lamp: 1,500 points.
- Desert Treasure 1 Lamp: 1,500 points.
Essential Tips for Day 1
- PJ Timer: The PJ timer is now 24 ticks (14.4 seconds). If you are being attacked, try to corner-trick or use a ladder. If you can stay out of combat for 14.4 seconds, you can teleport away.
- The Skull: Always check the Deadman Skull for the Breach Timer. Breaches occur at 2 AM, 10 AM, and 7 PM UK time. They are the fastest way to get points—but the most dangerous.
